DERMATOSCOPY

Dermatoscopy is a non-invasive technique that uses a magnifying lens to observe morphological features of the epidermis and upper dermis that cannot be seen with the naked eye.
This technique helps:

  • In the early diagnosis of aggressive skin carcinoma known as melanoma
  • In the differentiation of malignant melanocytic lesions from non-malignant melanocytic ones, vascular lesions, seborrheic keratosis, basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma of the skin
  • In the proper planning for performing surgical interventions
  • In avoiding performing biopsies or unnecessary skin surgeries
  • In the follow-up of patients with multiple moles
  • In the diagnosis of many skin diseases such as: acute or chronic inflammatory ones (Lichen, psoriasis, rosacea), infectious-viral (mollusc contagious, wart) parasitic (tungiasis, scabies, pediculosis) as well as for examination of the scalp and nails, etc.
